Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient vascular center supporting an Interventional Radiologist. This RN will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality care across the full patient experience: pre-procedure intake and preparation, intra-procedure clinical support, and post-procedure recovery and discharge education.

The ideal candidate is calm, organized, and confident in a procedural setting. Experience in vascular, interventional radiology, PACU, ICU, ED, cath lab, or outpatient surgery is strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to vascular/interventional radiology patients throughout the visit (pre-, intra-, and post-procedure).
  • Perform pre-procedure assessments including patient history, vitals, medication reconciliation, allergy review, and risk screening.
  • Start and manage IV access; administer medications and fluids as ordered and within scope of practice.
  • Assist the Interventional Radiologist during procedures by maintaining patient readiness, monitoring status, and supporting sterile/procedural workflow.
  • Monitor patients during and after procedures for pain, bleeding, hematoma, changes in vitals, sedation effects (when applicable), and overall stability.
  • Deliver post-procedure recovery care, discharge instructions, and patient education (wound care, activity restrictions, warning signs, follow-up).
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Maintain infection control, emergency readiness, and procedural room standards (equipment checks, supplies, medication verification).
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to support patient flow, efficiency, and an excellent patient experience.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.

  • Active RN license in the state of Utah.

  • Current BLS required.

  • ACLS preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a procedural, vascular, outpatient surgery, ED, ICU, PACU, cath lab, or interventional setting preferred.
  • Comfort with IV starts, monitoring, and post-procedure recovery workflows.

Skills & Attributes
