Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our podiatry care team. The RN will play a key role in supporting and providing care under the direction of a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) in the delivery of exceptional patient care focused on lower extremity health. This position involves direct patient interaction, clinical procedures, wound and post-operative care, and patient education to promote healing and prevent complications.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient setting with a focus on wound care, neuropathy management, post-operative recovery, and general podiatric conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM).

  • Assist with and perform clinical procedures including wound care, dressing changes, and neurovascular assessments.

  • Support post-operative patients with dressing changes, suture/staple removal, and ongoing education for proper recovery.

  • Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and prepare patients for examination or treatment.

  • Administer medications and injections as directed, consistent with scope of practice and physician orders.

  • Educate patients on wound management, foot health, diabetes-related foot care, and preventive strategies.

  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure seamless coordination of care and optimal patient outcomes.

  • Accurately document all patient encounters, treatments, and communications in the electronic health record (EHR).

  • Maintain infection control standards and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.

  • Active RN license in the state of Utah.

  • Current BLS certification preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in an outpatient, post-operative, wound care, or specialty setting preferred.
  • Experience in podiatry, or wound management is highly desirable.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong patient care, communication, and teaching skills.

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EHR systems).

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
