Referral Coordinator

Position Overview

We are seeking an organized and effective Referral Coordinator to join our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that patient referrals from outside organizations are accurately scheduled for appointments and procedures. At Allevio Care, we are passionate about creating positive and meaningful interactions with our patients to provide them with the best service in the nation. This role is crucial for maintaining strong relationships with our referral partners while providing prompt services to patients. We’re excited to meet the right candidates who will contribute to the growth and positive culture at Allevio!

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing patient referrals accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Scheduling patient appointments.

  • Answering patients’ questions regarding basic medical tests and procedures.

  • Providing instructions to patients to ensure that they are prepared for examinations and procedures.

  • Explaining financial requirements and obligations to patients and entering payments into the practice management system.

  • Verifying insurance details and informing patients of un-covered fees.

Qualifications

  • Professional working proficiency in English speaking and comprehension.

  • One or more years' experience in:

  • Customer service/reception OR

  • Medical/clinical setting OR

  • Referral processing

  • Basic understanding of English medical terminology.

  • Basic understanding of United States health insurance.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

  • Good telephone etiquette.
